In this session, Xylem will discuss the following learning objectives for attendees:
- Highlight the physical characteristics of steam, and address the steam tables
- Discuss the two main forms of heat energy (sensible and latent) and the importance of each in steam systems
- Introduce some common steam heating applications and highlight important considerations when designing around steam applications
Presenters
Jim Nolan, Market Development Manager
Jim Nolan is the north central market development manager for Xylem’s Bell & Gossett. In this role, he is responsible for sales, training and product support at all levels of the distribution chain. Nolan has 23 years of experience in the HVAC and hydronics industry in a variety of roles in sales, product management and as a manufacturers’ rep executive. He studied marketing at Loyola University in Chicago and is an ASHRAE member. His principal areas of interest are energy savings, hydronic systems, training and engineered solutions to solve customer requirements and enhance return on investment.
Jim Klimek, Product Line Manager – Heat Exchangers, Separators, & Tanks
Jim Klimek is the Heat Transfer Global Product Manager at Xylem. He holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Jim has 24 years of heat transfer experience at Xylem and additionally held roles in application engineering and product and application engineering management.
CEU and Accreditation Details
The webinar is scheduled for 1 hour, with the instructional portion approximately 45-50 minutes in duration, and the remaining time for attendee questions answered by your presenter. As an attendee, we recognize you may have the need to acquire documentation verifying your participation. In your registration application, we ask if you require a Certificate of Attendance or Certificate of IACET Approved Continuing Education Units.
The Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse has been accredited through the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). As such, we are authorized to provide Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) in accordance with the ANSI/IACET standards.
Attendees will have the option to receive either a Certificate of Attendance, or Certificate for 1 hour of IACET approved Continuing Education Units (0.1 CEU) at the conclusion of the webinar.
As a participant in our live, or recorded, webinar training session, who is seeking a Certificate of Attendance, you have an obligation to fulfill the following requirements:
- Registered for course on your behalf only
- Must remain in attendance for the scheduled duration of time
- At the conclusion of the training session, complete a 5 question seminar evaluation
As a participant in our live, or recorded, webinar training session, who is seeking a Certificate of Completion with applicable number of IACET Approved CEU’s, in addition to the requirements noted above, you must:
- Take a six (6) question quiz, and achieve a score of 65% or better. (4 or more correct answers)
- You will be given five (5) attempts to successfully pass the quiz. Notification of score, including listing of correct and incorrect answers, will be sent to you via e-mail within 30 minutes of each completed quiz submission.
- If a passing score is not obtained after 5 attempts, you will be required to watch the recorded version of the training session in its’ entirety, and then five (5) additional attempts to pass the quiz will be made available.
- Your certificate will be issued upon completion.
Upon completion of the webinar, please allow for up to 24 hours to receive the email with a link to begin the evaluation and certification process.
