UK water company Severn Trent will utilise Lowara pumps in water treatment works across their region. The Lowara CO series work as dump valve assist pumps within sludge dryer packages being supplied by Plenty Filters and Morgan Est, working in partnership together.

“Plenty has chosen Lowara on this and other projects, getting good service from our suppliers,” explained Gary Wheatley, Sales Manager for Plenty Filters, who has recently completed installation of two 10-inch automatic backflushing filters at the Netheridge Sewage Treatment Works in Gloucester.

The CO series centrifugal electric pumps with open impellers deliver up to 900 l/min with a head of up to 24.5m.

All parts in contact with liquid are made of AISI 316L stainless steel.

This complements the 316 steel mesh filtration internals, alongside Plenty’s auto air release heads and control panels to Severn Trent specification, giving a clean pressure drop of 0.07-0.1 bar.

The installation manager for Morgan Est commented that he was very pleased with the performance of the backflushing filters, which are providing good dirt load capacity and filtration performance.
