Xylem AQUA pro service professionals
Site managers responsible for utility or industrial water operations face constant demands. Managers must keep operations running smoothly, stay compliant with increasingly complex regulations and prevent costly downtime – all while overseeing limited staff and tight timelines.
When equipment breaks or urgent issues arise, operators don’t always have the manpower or specialized expertise on hand to fix it.
These demanding moments are where Xylem’s AQUA pro service team thrives. Our AQUA pros are local, highly trained experts who step in when water managers need help.
AQUA pros are hands-on, safety-focused and always working toward customer goals – whether it’s planned maintenance, emergency support, or fine-tuning the system for peak performance.
Our goal is: “Uptime, On Time, First Time, Every Time.”
Learn how AQUA pros have helped utilities and industrial operators solve real problems – from eliminating odor complaints in Tampa, to managing boiler water at a California refinery, to rapidly deploying treatment systems at a microelectronics facility in Texas.
Reduced odors and fewer site visits in Tampa
Solution: To help manage odors from wastewater, the City of Tampa partnered with Xylem to deploy the ORCA odor control system – a digital solution that continuously monitors hydrogen sulfide levels and automatically adjusts chemical dosing to prevent odors and protect pumping infrastructure.
By combining remote monitoring and expert oversight from AQUA pros, Tampa moved to a more efficient "service as needed" model. AQUA pros remain on call to respond to any alerts or emergencies, ensuring reliable, expert service whenever it’s needed.
Results: Thanks to optimized dosing and remote monitoring, the city has significantly reduced odor complaints and minimized unplanned visits. Once a site is stabilized, the system adjusts energy and chemical use, leading to lower costs and a more sustainable operation. The city can even shut off systems during floods to prevent chemical discharges.
AQUA pro: Russell Valentine
Russell has supported Tampa’s odor control systems for years. He started out delivering chemicals and quickly advanced to become a trusted field technician, bringing safety, efficiency, and operational expertise.
Reliable water for boilers at a California oil refinery
Solution: At an oil refinery in Northern California, Xylem AQUA pros perform scheduled maintenance on a reverse osmosis system that supplies high-quality water for boilers. Services include swapping out membranes, cleaning equipment, and following safety procedures that prevent machines from starting during maintenance.
Results: Regular maintenance has improved uptime, water quality and environmental performance at the facility. The proactive approach means fewer surprises and safer operations for everyone onsite.
AQUA pro: Adan Preciado
Adan demonstrated standout safety knowledge during a refinery-wide audit – so much so that a safety auditor praised his expertise in front of the entire plant team. Adan’s professionalism reflects the rigorous training behind every AQUA pro.
Rapid response for water treatment in Texas
Solution: A new microelectronics facility in Texas needed temporary wastewater treatment systems to support operations during the design-build phase of construction. Xylem AQUA pros jumped in to quickly set up three mobile systems. The systems included pre-treatment, reverse osmosis, and ultrapure water components to provide polished rinse water essential for production during construction.
Results: The temporary systems kept production on track and exceeded expectations – resulting in the facility extending the contract and selecting Xylem to construct the permanent treatment systems.
AQUA pros: Andy Anderson, Heath Sutton, Adam Gonzales, Hector Cabuto
This team brought nonstop energy and technical expertise to a demanding timeline. Andy and Heath led the installation, while Adam and Hector provide hands-on support at the site.
