Safe water for community centers in metropolitan Lima
In Metropolitan Lima, residents of popular settlements often face challenges accessing safe and reliable water. Community centers in these neighborhoods serve as key spaces for organization, collective care, and social services, yet the lack of proper water systems limits their ability to support the community. Unsafe water increases the risk of waterborne diseases, impacts daily activities, and undermines overall community health.
Xylem Watermark is partnering with TECHO Peru, an organization that mobilizes young volunteers to work with local communities, develop habitat solutions, and strengthen community capacities. Together, we are implementing water systems in community centers to provide safe water access and improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
