Rainwater harvesting for schools in Guerrero
In Guerrero, many schools struggle with limited access to safe water, making it difficult to keep classrooms open throughout the year. Without reliable supply, school operations are disrupted, affecting both learning and hygiene for students and teachers.
Xylem Watermark is partnering with Niños en Alegría to install a rainwater harvesting system that will provide a steady and safe water source for an entire school community, ensuring six months of uninterrupted operations.
Xylem solution
- Construction and installation of a 5,000-liter rainwater harvesting system
- Roof catchment, filtration, and storage tanks to collect and treat rainwater
- Pumping equipment and piping to distribute safe water throughout the school
Beneficiaries: 100 students, teachers, and staff at one school in Guerrero
