Water for India

With International Centre for Clean Water

In Chennai, ongoing water stress affects schools and colleges, leaving students and staff without reliable access to safe drinking water. Frequent supply interruptions, poor maintenance, and lack of awareness about safe water handling create a cycle where infrastructure investments often fail to deliver sustainable access. Without intervention, thousands of children remain deprived of one of their most basic needs during school hours.

Xylem Watermark is partnering with the International Centre for Clean Water (ICCW), an organization dedicated to implementing sustainable water solutions across India. Together, they will deploy Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs) at two institutions—Cariappa School and the College of Fish Nutrition and Food Technology at TNJFU—to provide on-demand safe drinking water while raising awareness of innovative, decentralized water technologies.

Xylem solution

  • Install two AWG units capable of producing 150 liters per day each
  • Provide external storage tanks, IoT flow monitoring, and training for local operators
  • Ensure safe, continuous drinking water for students and staff with minimal maintenance
