Safe water access at Tulugeduda Primary School
In Hebano Kebele, Kokosa District, Ethiopia, 48% of people lack access to basic water and 90% to basic sanitation. Without nearby safe water, students often fetch water from unsafe sources, exposing themselves to illness, and girls miss school due to lack of menstrual hygiene facilities.
Xylem Watermark is partnering with Water for Good, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions, to bring safe, reliable water to Tulugeduda Primary School.

- Install a solar-powered pump system, storage tank, multitap stand, and pipeline to latrines to provide safe water and handwashing stations
- Conduct hygiene workshops for students and staff and establish a WASH club to promote lasting sanitation practices
