Stratmoor Hills Expands Footprint To Mitigate PFCs
Since 2018 Stratmoor Hills Water & Sanitation Districts in Stratmoor Hills, Colorado has had two IX48 ion exchange treatment systems in place to remove PFOA and PFOS from two separate wells. Each treatment system was seasonal, running only in the summer and consisted of an ion exchange system from Evoqua Water Technologies.

Supervision of pumping stations in Vlaardingen is highly effective
In the municipality of Vlaardingen, rainwater and wastewater are processed by more than seventy pumping stations, six of which are large, dry-installed main pumping stations and a large number of subsidiary and mini-pumping stations. Supervision is the responsibility of Xylem, which means that the Vlaardingen maintenance department receives a weekly overview of all relevant events.

The problem centered on excessive solids in the effluent. To ease the hydraulic load on the existing concrete secondary clarifier and reduce total suspended solids (TSS), Xylem installed a Taron activated sludge filter.
