Trial of Flygt Adaptive Mixers Shows Energy and Cost Saving in New Plymouth, New Zealand

Trial of Flygt Adaptive Mixers Shows Energy and Cost Saving - banner image

The case study highlights a remarkable energy reduction of 49.58% achieved by replacing conventional single-speed mixers with Flygt Adaptive Mixers in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Xylem collaborated with the New Plymouth District Council to trial the innovative Flygt Adaptive technology, replacing two existing mixers in the anoxic zone of bioreactors. Over a three-month period, the Adaptive Mixers demonstrated significant energy savings and operational efficiency. The trial's success led to NPDC purchasing one of the trial mixers and subsequently choosing Xylem through a competitive tender to replace all 16 mixers in their bioreactors. The Flygt Adaptive Mixers offer integrated motor control, energy efficiency, and flexibility, making them an optimal choice for wastewater treatment plants.
