Alarm Management

Receive real-time data and early warnings from connected devices; Send alarm notifications to a defined call list through text messages, emails, or in-app notifications

An alarm is a warning of danger that needs a user action. All alarms are recorded in the alarm log and there are individual alarms for each device and station in the system.

Priority levels

All alarms have a default priority level for each device. It is possible to change the priority level of each alarm in the system. There are four priority levels; High, Medium, Low and Off. The table below shows how the user is notified and the description of each priority level.

Priority level Notification Description
High • The application shows an alarm icon
• The application sends a message to the user
• The application monitors the alarm
• Notifications are active
• The alarm is saved to the log file
Medium
Low The application shows an alarm icon
Off __ The application does not monitor the alarm

State of an alarm

Alarms can be active or ceased, where an active alarm means that the trigger that raised the alarm is still ongoing. In Avensor each alarm instance have an icon that shows the alarm status. Avensor enables a user to filter the alarms based on their priority level, state and if the alarm is acknowledged or not.  The table below describes the alarm icon color and its meaning.

Alarm icon Description Priority Level
Flashing red Unacknowledged alarm A High
Red Acknowledged alarm A High
Flashing orange Unacknowledged alarm B Medium
Orange Acknowledge alarm B Medium
Grey Alarm C Low

User configured delays

It is also possible to set notification delays for an alarm, which affects the time it takes for a user to be notified and the time it takes for the alarm to be seen as ceased in Avensor. The table below describes the delay types.

Delay Description
Notification delay [minutes] The notification delay is the time between the alarm is triggered and the first notification is sent to the user.
The notification is only sent if the alarm stays active during the specified notification delay.
Alarm activation delay [seconds] When an alarm activation delay is set, Avensor waits to trigger the alarm for the specified period.
Alarm deactivation delay [seconds] When the deactivation delay is set, Avensor waits to cease the alarm for the specified period.
