Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Systems

Many applications are now demanding zero liquid discharge (ZLD) or minimum liquid discharge (MLD) as a requirement in their water management process. With Xylem’s crystallization technology both of these requirements can be met depending on the chemistry of the wastewater.

ZLD applications are fulfilled when our One-step system achieves a boiling point where the residuals consist of salts and solids which can be safely disposed of. In some cases, depending on the chemistry of the water there may be a minimum discharge (MLD) which can be recycled back through the process for further treatment.
