Flygt has been the undisputed leader in wastewater pumping since we invented the submersible pump in 1948. For decades we developed the single vane impeller technology to perfection, but we didn't stop there. Believing that it was possible to get even better clog-resistance and higher efficiencies we pushed on with research and experimentation to reach new heights. In 1997 we had found a way to separate the solids passing function from the requirement of large throughlets. The patented N-technology was born!
Further research and field testing revealed just how good this innovation really was. The phenomena of partial clogging in conventional wastewater pump impellers was studied and found to be a major factor in high operational costs. The then new N-impellers proved that sustained efficiency was possible in wastewater pumping. Further impeller and hydraulics development have yielded designs that have very high, and sustained, pump efficiencies with relatively flat efficiency curves and excellent NPSH characteristics.Today Flygt's assortment spans over large Q/H ranges and many different pump sizes and types.
The latest innovation, Adaptive N™ technology, has benefitted the smaller wastewater pumps. Here the pump impeller is axially movable on the pump shaft so that a large throughlet is created for a fraction of a second and only when a large piece of debris needs to pass the pump.
In addition to the above hydraulic designs we offer propeller pumps, grinder, chopper, vortex and channel impellers to fit all customer needs.
