The Early Warning System (EWS) application improves extreme event management in river basins by integrating and processing both measured and simulated data on weather, water flow, and water levels. It combines these with outputs from the basin’s hydrological and meteorological models, including the simulation of reservoir inflows, into a single, unified platform.
The solution triggers warnings, recommendations and alarms in real time to help water authorities and civil defense organizations reduce damage and protect communities. It also enables earlier activation of disaster management protocols and supports post-event response evaluation.
